Albania became a member of the World Bank Group in 1991. Since then, the World Bank has committed US$754 million for 54 projects. During this time, the World Bank has helped implement
reforms to enhance the environment for private sector development, create employment, make the government more efficient, and improve infrastructure for basic social services. Currently, the World Bank is financing 22 on-going projects in Albania.
