Efforts to strengthen economies, prevent poverty and improve the quality of life can only be successful if attention is paid to education. In Azerbaijan, a pilot project supported by the World Bank has helped the government develop a strategy to reform the education system. World Bank financing has also helped train teachers, design new textbooks, and reform the academic curricula to equip young people for the challenges of the future.
