Improvements in agriculture are key to alleviating poverty in Moldova. A project financed by the World Bank is helping increase productivity and boost the income of people living in rural areas. It is facilitating farmers’ access to new technologies and sources of financing. Over 50,000 micro loans totaling more than US$9 million have been granted under the project.
