Since 1996, the World Bank has launched more than 600 anticorruption programs in 100 countries. Poland was quick to take up the World Bank’s offer to assist in efforts to curb the level of corruption, and as a result, a strong anti-corruption program was developed. A World Bank study led to the formation of a high level anti-corruption group. Its strategy has helped stimulate debate on the subject.
