The
World Bank is helping Poland implement a renewable energy project
in the Tatra Mountains. The geothermal district heating and environment
project is reducing air pollution from local coal-fired boilers
by increasing the use of clean energy in Podhala. Air quality has
improved and the residents have saved on fuel costs. Better air
quality is also expected to attract more tourists to the ski and
health resorts of the Zakopane and Nowy Targ regions. |
