Corruption
is a roadblock to economic growth and diverts public resources from
those who need them most. Since 1996, the World Bank has launched
more that 600 anticorruption programs in 100 countries. The World
Bank’s commitment to help countries fight corruption has helped
inspire a global response to the problem. In Serbia,
the World Bank supports reforms that foster transparency, public
accountability, and participation, all of which reduce the incentives
for corrupt behavior. |
